Anthony Fox grew up in Cape Town, has been a keen surfer since a young age and now lives in Kommetjie. After completing a BCom degree, majoring in Economics at Stellenbosch University, he traveled the world, working where he could to finance the next surf expedition which ranged from Central America to Indonesia and many other countries.
Anthony has always been interested in photography but it was only due to a surfing related injury late last year that pushed me to shooting surfing related images as there was little else I could do and still had to be involved somehow. I enjoyed photographing the sport to such an extent that I wanted to shoot in the water to get closer to the action and bought an underwater housing in February this year. My first 'practise' shoot with a rented lens was well received and even managed to get a few photographs published. I shot a couple more times and further images were published here and in the States.
He has been shooting professionally since August this year and has managed to have one of his photographs published on the front page of the Cape Times.
'It is still early so I'm just feeling my way around different subject matter and seeing what grabs me, but surf photography is my driving passion.' - Anthony Fox
